So you were on a hen or stag party in Sligo had a heavy night out!. We've got some great idea's to get you back in shape and ready for night 2!. First things first, you need to get the grub in. You always need some good soakage in order to replenish the body with those lovely alcohol toxins again. Here is a number of venues that do a mean sit-down fry early in the morning.
1. Lyons Cafe, Quay Street (Sat Only)
2. O'Hehir Cafe, Tesco Arcade
3. Cafe Souperb, Johnson Court Shopping Centre
4. Knox Restaurant, O'Connell Street
There are a couple of great options out of town like Shells Cafe in Strandhill and the Little Cottage in Rossespoint - both super busy and probably not suitable for very large groups. Both Rossespoint and Strandhill are located beside beaches - a nice brisk walk on either is another great way to rid yourself of 'the hangover'.
For the late risers, there is the option of a couple of bars in town open at 12.30 on a Sunday. The Belfry does a mean fry and is a great pub for watching Sunday sports. A couple of other bars have the same set-up like Fiddlers Creek, The Swagman and Hargadons. There's an endless amount of bars that are great on a Sunday if you are just looking for a liquid breakfast.
There are some great activities you could do in order to get yourself back on track. There is a great walk along the Riverfront from the town centre to Doorly Park - it's not too challenging and takes as long as you want (up to 8k but you can do less). There is the more challenging Queen Maeve Trail which is one that can get the heart rate going. An endless amount of other walks & treks are available. For the really adventurous ones, there is the option of renting bikes for a couple of hours and doing some leisurely cycling or even mountain biking on some of the many trails in Sligo. Of course, there are endless amounts of other outdoor activities that are available in the adventure capital like Surfing, Coasteering, Stand-up Paddling....the list is endless!. See the full range on our hen and stag activities page.
