A little bit more information about Gin Tasting
So we've started getting alot more enquiries and bookings for our Gin Tasting Class. Gin as a drink has exploded in popularity in Ireland over the past 2 years and now is tipple of choice to so many on a night out.
Anyone who enjoys a G&T nowadays knows there's much more to it now than just your standard branded gin and club tonic served in a highball glass with ice/lemon. There is a huge variety of Gin's available on the market now all with different botanicals used to flavour every gin. The class instructor will be able to tell you about all the different botanicals used and the infusion process.
What exactly happens during the class and where does it take place?
There are a number of venues which facilitate our class in Sligo Town Centre. It really depends on a number of factors including group size, time of day and other bookings on the day. The class is always undertaken by the same team however and follows the same format.
The class starts off by a welcome shot (not gin strangely enough). Our instructor then welcomes the group and get's straight into the business of everything gin. Believe us - it is incredibly interesting stuff!. When the class is about half way through - some of the special gin infused cupcakes are brought out. These are delicious and made by a local bakery in Sligo and are infused with gin as the name suggests. Don't worry - you won't get tipsy eating these by they are something different and taste delicious!.
There are a couple of fun games during the class which do include forfeits such as shot taking. Some of the games include blind tasting (gin versus vodka) or standard gins versus premium brands. You'll get a chance to Gin-It-Yourself during the class and overall have a really fun experience. (In total you get 3 Gin and Tonics during the class with normally multiple shots!!)
